IWO JIMA RUN

OUR FIRST RUN OF THE YEAR.

WE WILL VISIT THE MEMORIAL IN NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT

ON SUNDAY 4/22/2007

Our first run this year will be to the Iwo Jima Memorial in New Britain, Conn. on April 22, 2007, with a rain date of 4/29/07.Riders from Eastern Long Island may either take the Port Jefferson Ferry or leave with the riders from western Long Island.

If you choose to take the Port Jefferson Ferry: The departure time is 9:00am with an arrival time of 10:15 in Bridgeport, Conn. Reservations are recommended, call 631-473-0286 for reservations, and arrive 15-20 min-nuts before departure. The fee is $24.50 for a motorcycle one way. There may be an additional fee if you have a passenger. After you depart the ferry head North on Route 8 and pull over just pass Route 15. The other riders will meet you on the East side of Route 8 just pass Route 15 at app. 10:30am.

If you choose to ride around: We will meet at the Marine Corps League, 99 Iwo Jima Blvd (New York Ave), Massapequa at 8:35am and depart at 8:50am sharp. From here we will travel to the Marina on Cross Island Parkway (between exit 31 and 32) to meet any additional riders. Departure time from the Marina is 9:30am sharp.

If you are coming from up North (NY, CT, MA, NH), meet up with everyone at the Memorial. We should get there between 11:30am and 12:00pm.

THIS IS A DECENT WEEKEND RIDE TO MONTREAL, CANADA. WE USUALLY LEAVE EARLY FRIDAY MORNING 8/3/2007 AND RETURN HOME BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON -  EVENING. IT PAYS RESPECTS TO THOSE CANADIAN'S WHO SERVED IN OUR MILITARY IN VIETNAM.
